The RISE Postsecondary Success team partners with high schools to ensure all students graduate on time and complete milestones for their identified postsecondary plans. In the coming weeks, we will celebrate the accomplishments of graduating seniors in our Core Network schools. Their dedication, hard work, and resilience have led them to this important goal. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

What is your plan after you graduate from high school?
Feryal: I plan on attending Cornell University and majoring in Biology.
What support did you receive to help you form your postsecondary plan?
Feryal: I received support from the Imagine College advisors and my college mentor on the whole college application process, including FAFSA.
What advice would you give to a rising senior?
Feryal: I advise all rising seniors to make sure that they apply to as many colleges as they can. It is better to have too many options than not enough. Also, apply to colleges out of your comfort zone. For example, I applied to colleges that are close to home and some that are far, and although I wasn’t too sure about going out of state, now I believe that I made the right decision.
What are you most proud of, as you look back on your high school experience?
Feryal: I’m most proud of who I have become. I feel as if high school really shaped who I am today, and just shaped me as a person. As I look back, I was much less confident and not as outgoing as I am today, and I thank my experiences in high school for these changes.
What are you most looking forward to, as you look ahead to the future?
Feryal: As I look into the future, I am excited to pursue my interests. In high school, I got to pursue things I liked, but it was all in a scheduled manner and much more strict. I feel like in the future, with all the control I have, I will be able to explore things that spark my interest and kind of balance out my learning with not only things I need to take, but also things I’m interested in taking.
